Camberwell Green Misses Makeover Cash
Camberwell Green shortlisted for grant, but miss out on public vote
The Mayor of London awarded ten grants of up to £400,000 for London's most needy parks to make them cleaner, safer, greener, and nicer places to visit. Cllr John Friary, Cllr Alison McGovern and I joined in the campaign on the Green, complete with placards and Boris Johnson wigs.
Camberwell missed out on the cash, but on the Community Council we are continuing to make the Green a priority and looking for opportunities to bring money into this area.
The area would benefit from:
improved entrances; new interpretive signs; public artwork; new seating; a refreshment kiosk as a meeting point; attractive planting; and new loos!
